Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, an IAS officer of the 1992 batch from Telangana, is a distinguished civil servant with a wealth of academic and professional accomplishments. He holds a Masters in Psychology from Delhi University, an MBA from IIM Calcutta, and a Masters in Public Management from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore. He has also attended specialized courses in policy, globalization, leadership, and sustainability from renowned institutions like Harvard University, London School of Economics, and the University of Birmingham.
Jayesh Ranjan’s illustrious career spans multiple leadership roles, including his current position as the Special Chief Secretary of the Industries & Commerce and Information Technology Departments in Telangana. His efforts focus on policy development, attracting investments, and promoting IT for governance and citizen empowerment. Previously, he served as the Commissioner and MD of the Industries Department, Secretary of Tourism Promotion, and Vice-Chairman of HUDA, among other roles, impacting diverse sectors like Tribal Development, Natural Resource Management, and Poverty Alleviation.
In 2019, he was honored with the Royal Order of the Polar Star by the King of Sweden for promoting Swedish business in India, including IKEA’s first Indian store in Hyderabad. He also supports several social and charitable organizations, working towards the betterment of society.
Dr. Ramkishan, a distinguished professional in the field of regulatory pharmacy, holds a D. Pharmacy (1987-1989) with 1st Division/1st Rank, a B. Pharmacy from Kakatiya University with 1st Division/2nd Rank, and an M. Pharmacy (Pharmacology) with 1st Division/1st Rank. His academic excellence is further highlighted by his GATE score of 87.48% (1992) and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Gujarat University. With two patents, four published books, and 47 research publications (23 national and 24 international), Dr. Ramkishan has contributed significantly to the field.
Currently pursuing an MBA in Human Resource Management from Osmania University (2023-25), he has 26 years of regulatory experience in the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO). His career began with an all-India 7th rank for the post of Drug Inspector (1997). He has served across various CDSCO field offices and is currently the Deputy Drugs Controller (India) at Hyderabad Zone.
Dr. Ramkishan was recently nominated by WHO as an Expert Advisory Panel Member on Biological Standardization (2023-2027). His numerous accolades include 47 national and international awards, and he has served on various advisory boards, authored guidance documents, and guided Ph.D. scholars across the country. His leadership in biological product standardization and drug regulation is widely recognized both nationally and internationally.
